Romans 15:5-6 says, 

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”

The prayer above is pleading with God to open the minds and hearts of the speaker’s fellow Christians. It wants unity and harmony among the followers of Christ.

 Our opinions being united is not the objective. It’s that we should build each other up with love no matter our differences. That is the genuine community Jesus taught. 

This community is one that I have found at Saint Eugene

Hello, my name is Lela. I am the current president of the Student Council at Saint Eugene. This is my ninth and final year in the school. I have also run for our track team

 ( Go Lions!)   since my first year. I still remember being afraid on my first day of kindergarten, but then quickly learning that I was safe. I found new friends in my first class and they continue to be my friends today. I would be lying to myself  if I said Saint Eugene didn’t help form me  into the person I’m becoming today. Through countless activities, projects, and  test preparations, my teachers have been there every step of the way. This place will forever be special to me and my peers.

It wasn’t until a few years ago that I realized my school received support as well as I had from it. Support from the parishioners who call St. Eugene Catholic Church their home.

I truly can’t convey the adoration we -the students- hold for anyone who has ever helped our school become a better place. Your support is greatly appreciated. Our teachers give their all to the students each and every day. No matter the subject they motivate me to learn and be curious. Whether it’s Abraham Lincoln or emotional well-being, each topic is just as important as the last. Their patience and commitment are an example to how we should carry ourselves in and outside the classroom. Though it may be true I don’t know each of you individually, I know of your kindness and it shows throughout our school ! 

After all, Saint Eugene Church and school is a great blessing to its parishioners, students, teachers, and staff!
